In our Guide to Waxing, we briefly talked about what waxing can do for you. But we think the benefits of waxing are so important that they deserve to be the subject of their own article. Waxing is one of the most popular beauty services we offer at home, and for good reason.
So, if you want to get your bikini ready for the height of summer or just love how smooth waxing makes you, keep reading.

Why wax?
Waxing is a great way to get rid of hair quickly, cheaply, and safely on most parts of the body. We can wax your upper lip, eyebrows, chin, underarms, arms, legs, and bikini line at home.
Shaving, which most people do instead of waxing, doesn't last as long as waxing. Even though you'll need to shave again in a day or two, waxing can keep you hair-free for up to six weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows.

There are different ways to wax.

There are two ways to wax: with hot wax and with warm wax. During warm waxing, the wax is put on the skin directly with a spatula. Smooth strips of fabric over the wax, and then quickly pull them off. This pulls the wax and hair off the skin.

When hot waxing, hot wax is put on the skin directly. The wax is left on the skin to cool and get hard. The wax is then pulled right off the skin by lifting the corner of the wax.
When you use hot wax, the pores open up more before the strips are taken off. This makes it better for sensitive areas. Most of the time, we think that hot wax is better than warm wax.
So let's get right to the good things about waxing.

1. Less growth back.

Most people know that waxing keeps hair from growing back quickly.
When you wax, the hairs are pulled out by the root. When you shave, the hairs are cut close to the skin. Even if you shave very close, this still leaves a lot of hair just under the surface, ready to grow out in a day or two. This is really important to know if you are trying to decide whether waxing or shaving is better.
Because of this, waxing gives you a very smooth finish. No stray hairs or missed spots after a shower! Even if your hair grows back quickly, you should still be able to enjoy the benefits of waxing for 3–4 weeks.
Also, if you wax regularly with your beautician, you'll find the right frequency for you, which means you'll have less hair grow back in general.

2. Better growth

It's not just about how much hair will grow back. It's also about what kind of hair will grow back.
When you shave, like we said, you cut the hair off. This makes a cut that isn't sharp. Hairs aren't always straight! So the hair that grows back after shaving feels rough.
When you wax, the hair is pulled out at the root. This means that when the hair grows back, it does so with an end that is thin and pointed.
This end is finer and doesn't have thorns, so your skin won't feel as hairy as it would after shaving while you wait for your next wax.
Over time, some individual hairs might stop growing back at all, leaving you with less hair.

3. Waxing is like peeling your skin

When dead skin cells and dirt build up on your skin, it can lead to breakouts, spots, and dryness. So, we exfoliate to get rid of all of it.
When you wax, all of these things are taken care of for you. The area that was waxed is now smooth, bright, clean, and new. But it's not really a way to exfoliate, and if you want the best results, you should exfoliate a few days before getting a wax. You shouldn't exfoliate your skin for 48 hours before or after your waxing appointment, because it can make your skin more sensitive.

4. Waxing gets rid of razor burn.

Shaving rash is an irritation that makes the skin red and swell up. If you often get a rash from shaving, one of the best things about hot wax is that you should never get it again. If you shave, you will rub the area every few days, which will make the inflammation worse. If you wax, you can avoid this for more than a month, giving your skin time to heal.

5. Less ingrown hairs

Many people get ingrown hairs when they shave, which is a bad thing. Ingrown hairs can hurt and make you look bad. In the worst case, they can get infected and leave scars.
A professional waxer will know how to take off the wax strips in a way that has been shown to reduce the chance of ingrown hairs. This is done quickly while the skin is pulled tight.
Tell your beautician if you tend to get ingrown hairs, and make sure to exfoliate and moisturise well two days after the wax.

6. Waxing says goodbye to itching

Many people feel itchy right after they shave, and the itching gets worse as soon as their hair starts to grow back. When you wax, you'll feel a sharp sting and then a prickle, but then you should feel less itchy for a longer time.
Also, you won't have to use shaving products that irritate your skin or make it itch even more.

7. No more cuts from shaving if you wax.

Even if you've been shaving your legs for twenty years, you might still get a cut on your ankle. It makes sense, since a clean shave requires a good lather, which makes you, your hands, and the razor all slippery.
If you get waxed by a professional, you won't get any nicks, cuts, or other skin damage.

8. It's a chance to be pampered and spend time on yourself.

It's a beauty task to shave. Booking a wax, especially in the comfort of your own home, is a chance to have a professional take care of your skin and make you feel beautiful.
Even though the wax strips may hurt a little when they are pulled off, the soothing warmth of the hot wax and the skilled touch of the beautician are definitely pampering.
